Default I LOVE it here!

Hi All,

Hubby convinced me to drive down to Charlotte with him for the week, even though we don't yet have an offer on our house in Ohio. I have to say... I love it here!! It is so much nicer than I even imagined! I'm not fond of cities or crowds, so I wasn't sure what I would think of it... but the area where hubby's office is a AMAZING! He's on Carmel Road. The shopping in the area is unbelievable. I've never seen so much shopping in one place! And the homes in the area are really nice! I feel like I'm not even near the city! It's almost a park-like setting.

I couldn't imagine finding a place better than where I live now, but... I was wrong. I think we're going to LOVE it here. Hubby already does. He's been working down here for the last month, and is sooooo anxious to move down here permanently. Now, I am too!! It's going to be hard to go back to Ohio and WAIT after this.

Just wanted to share my excitement with you all!

I will be here until next Monday. Hubby will work until noon or so each day so he and I can go around a check out neighborhoods. Maybe if hubby's feeling adventerous, I'd like to see more of the area and downtown.

They actually call downtown uptown. Oh, you should have lunch or dinner at Mac's, really good bbq ribs, mac n cheese and the hushpuppies, mmmm. Both times we took company they wanted to go again.

Thanks Nancy! I will mention it to hubby. Sounds like his kind of place, and we are definitely looking for some good places to eat while we're here

I'll try to remember to call it "Uptown" next time...hehehe. Did I sound like a Yankee?

It used to be a transmission shop so it has a biker/garage theme. They call it a biker bar but don't let that scare you off, the suits from uptown go too as well as families.

Don't worry, I'm from So Cal and it took a while to get used to saying uptown. Although, technically there are a few signs on the freeway that still say downtown, so we're not completly wrong.

Medina, OH (near Cleveland)

Nancy, I lived in So Cal before OH. Yucaipa (east of San Bernardino). Anywhere near where you were from in So Cal???

Seems like A LOT of people from Long Island, Ohio, and Florida come to Charlotte....no?
