Default Advice from Cali folks and others

We are looking to move to Charlotte from S. Cali and are torn. We love it here but would love to live in a "cheaper" state. Do those of you who have moved from Cali like Charlotte? Any regrets? We are thinking of moving for a few years to save money and then moving back west.

Thanks!!!

If you plan to move back again I would really reconsider. Charlotte is nice, but if I had planned to move back I would have moved to somewhere closer for a while.

We moved from LA 2 years ago.

Dawn

M. Sippi-a little snarky aren't we? We would be moving out because of a job with a new company. Our goal would be to come back to Cali unless my husband grew to love Charlotte. I am from the south so I am sure that I will never want to leave. I guess I am worried because I won't get to visit before we decide.

Default Dive in, the water is fine!

You said you were from the South and would feel at home here... yes I can think of nothing more risky than picking a home for my wife...

But I do think you need to dive all the way in... help your husband discover the area, find things to love here, plant roots and see what happens. I think any plan to "return west in the future" will doom your time here. It's a state of mind that keeps you from planting roots, stepping out and taking some risks to make friends and all-- it just isn't something that can be done half hearted. just my 2 cents

You and he can learn more about the area at a terrific relocation site removed
