You are not wealthy unless you have something money can't buy.

As long as we have our health, love and happiness, we are all wealthy...

I am sure there are snobs all over the world, in communities everywhere. People choose how they are going to act and interact. What amuses me about these discussions is . . . folks seem to think that people who are unfriendly are snobbish. Snobbery is a compilation of things - including exclusivity and a desire to be set apart. The true snobs amongst us don't mingle with us. So dubbing an area "snobbish" is silly, indeed. People who have the money to actually engage in snobbery live in gated communities, hang out at their country club and do not mingle with the rest of us - and certainly do not care what we are thinking about them. (If they did care - displaying their wealth and acting haughty, they would be pretentious. There IS a difference)

If you see folks who are touting their wealth, they are most likely something other than snobs. But my question is . . . who the hell is noticing? I don't give a rat's patootie if someone is friendly or not to me. Polite? Civil? That is all we can ask in public. It seems folks are dubbing rude behavior or disinterest in connecting with others as snobbery. Maybe people are in their own cocoons.

I do not live in Ballantyne, but I certainly shop there and interact there. I don't know what it is that others are seeing, b/c frankly . . . I think it is a wonderful area and I always have a nice outing there. My car wouldn't start in a parking lot recently and people of several different ages and ethnicities, male and female, offered to help.

People are people everywhere. If you have a pleasant countenance, you will most likely be received as a pleasant person. Where are all these haughty, rude people? I don't run into them!

So true. Nice folks are everywhere. All we have to do is be polite and kind and others will respond. A kind soul cannot be purchased.
