Monroe Citizen Alert
CITIZEN ALERT
Robbery
A robbery was reported at Petro Express located at 3006 Old Charlotte Highway. The clerk reports that a black male suspect about 5'07", wearing a black shirt, baggie blue jeans, black shoes, and a doo rag covering his face. The clerk reports that the suspect implied a weapon, however she did not see a gun. The suspect left the store on foot down Timber Lane Drive. Anyone with information is asked to contact Monroe Police Department at 704-282-4700 or Union County Crimestoppers at 704-283-5600.

You would think their security cameras would help somewhat, but most of the vids I have seen from those cameras are pretty fuzzy and people are rather indistinguishable. Of course, if you caught a license tag (but then it would probably be a stolen car, LOL!!!)

Very few stores want to spend the $$ to get the digital cameras, even though they provide a much better image. Sometimes I think a robber's own mother couldn't recognize him off those old cameras! |

Call it a flame or whatever you like - Black men don't corner the market on knocking over gas stations (or any other area of criminal activity for that matter). Unfortunately, gas stations (regardless of location) happen to be very common, as well as easy, targets.
Amateur radio is a favorite hobby of mine, and I listen to a lot of radio transmissions and suspects come in a lot of different shapes, sizes and colors (GASP).
Nothing politically correct about the truth. |

A guy running around with a doo rag on his face instead of on his head where it belongs should be pretty easy to spot.
Besides how is it possible to see during the robbery with a doo rag over one's face?
