Ok, so a month ago we were walking through the BJs at Concord Mills, and I stumbled upon the Topsy-Turvy planter like you see on TV. Well, we live in an apartment, and don't have a place for a garden, but would love fresh tomatoes. My wife's folks lived in High Point, and had a great garden with lots of good veggies, but have since moved to the beach, no garden. So, I decided to give it a try. i think the thing costs like $9.
I am posting this because I am sure many have wondered if it works, and I have to say it does. We picked up a Big Boy tomato plant, and have had it planted a few weeks, and I am posting pics of the results so far, with the first pic taken a couple of weeks ago, so you can see how well it does work in a small amount of time!

I see them all over my complex on tenants patios. From what I see, they do work. Enjoy your tomatoes.

How neat! And thanx for the photos!

I woke up about 5 am and an advertisement was running for these last nite, LOL! I have always wondered if they really worked.

Looks like you are gonna be having a nice little crop of fresh 'maters! Nothing finer! No one believes me (except my family) when I say that I would rather have a tomato sandwich than a steak. YUM YUM!!!!!

Appreciate your sharing your experience. When those tomatoes set, you are gonna have to come back and post more pix!

look great! enjoy them, I've had about 3 off my traditional and a couple of zukes so far. this is my 1st year of gardening in Charlotte.

Greatest story from the farmer guy near Newtown road/Waxhaw Indian trail road: a guy comes in to buy his tomatoes who was complaining about his garden cost $1500. ? says the farmer. and the customer talked about the $1500 he spent at the chiropractor for busting his back digging up the earth for the garden.

Guess my hubby was wise to make a raised bed

I have a topsy-turvy and expect to have ripe tomatoes in about a week! I have seen people use a 2 liter soda bottle and it works just as well - cheaper and looks better too!

Wow - great info - thanks! I've been close to pulling the trigger on one of these things, but wanted to wait on the reviews. Next year, I'm going topsy-turvy!

Thanks all. I will post pics once I start getting maters. I really am pleased with it. Just thought people round Charlotte would want to know. You can pick it up at BJs still. I can't wait to get some good tomatoes!!
