Um, in your own house/apartment?
I don't think you're going to find many sports bars around here that offer hookahs...

lol when I read the post it sounded like a thinly veiled request to find new weed hookups Why do "hippie" and "mellow" HAVE to go together? Must I be a sterotypically ignorant borderline communist with nothing but bad things to say about our home in order to be considered mellow? As for hookah lounges, I think there's one in Charlotte or the surrounding area, but I don't waste my time in places like those, as we are still behind the times and only allow the filth known as Tobacco to be smoked there. By the way I'm only half serious with the first part of my post, I hope everyone can take a joke hehe

There's a drum circle in NoDa the same night as the gallery crawl, first and third Fridays. Wouldn't really call it a hippie circle, but usually fun. I second hanging out at the Common Market on Commonwealth - BIG variety of people in & out all day. Pura Vida, too, has some really great folks that work there & shop there, that's just up on Central, close to the Plaza.
Am I the only person here who remembers hippie hill in Freedom Park? Those days are long gone, but we were there! Most of the hippies I knew - myself included - have grown up; now we attachment parent our kids and grow organic gardens. It's a different type of peace & love, but still good.

Hey, Mattman! Actually - that is EXACTLY what I thought when I read this post!!! And I was also thinking . . . well, dang . . . do I have to be doing a doobie to be considered mellow? And if I am mellow, does that mean I am a hippie?
I left hippiedom behind in about 72, I think . . . at least the trappings of it. So I guess I don't get the jargon. Except it looked like code for "where do I score a hit around here?"

OK, so if that is old place that serves that bad brown herb, where is the NEW hippie-like, mellow-like, dazed and confused tired-eye people-escque place? Noda and Plaza Midwood?
Where do people aged 18-22 hang out during summer in Charlotte?

For those of who are looking for a weed hookup and are on the go, you can now combine your dentist visit with your drug pickup.

More like Doritos.
Not that I would know about anything like that...
