I am new in town and I can't find the right people for me. I'm looking for hippies, mellow chilled people wearing Grateful Dead T-shirts, headship visitors, college aged youngsters (not yet obsessed with their careers) Colleges are out, so that is a no go... Maybe in some parks?

Head west young hippie...the land of the Tweezer, YEM, the Dark Star and the 30 minute Lovelight.

As John Bell said before the second set, Halloween 2007...

"Asheville....".

You're saying Charlotte doesn't have those kind of people? You may be right. This is the first town I know that like that...

The only time you see this place like that is when the Panic, Lesh and Friends or Phish circus comes to town. As far as average everyday spot 'em on a Tuesday afternoon, not this town. You'd be looking at Asheville...or as I call it "Greenwich Village South"... for that type of crew.

Asheville, Boone and Carrboro!!! Even Winston-Salem and Greensboro have a few. But to answer you question. No, there is no Bohemian community in Charlotte. Charlotte is a very one-dimensional place.
