Alot of those storm chaser companies are total rip offs. They connect with a local company, put their local address on the trucks when they are really out of somewhere like Texas. They sweep in and try to get you to tell them what the insurance company will pay they will do the job for that amount. Be sure you use a reputable, local company that gives you a fair price.

Got the info from neighbor, looks like my area had a hail storm on April 10th, there were other dates of hail in the area (per NOAA), but this is the one that hit the Mallard Creek/Univ. area. This neighbor had his roof done by KTown Roofing (out of Kannapolis), it looks great. They use High Def Shingles (if that means anything to anyone).

They will even meet my adjuster there to make sure I am protected. I had no idea it was that easy. If anyone is interested in their info send me a msg and I will pass on their info.

I live in Huntersville and have just been informed that my roof has hail damage... What storm caused the damage you are referring to? More importantly do you recall the dates?

We just got a new roof (Huntersville) Loss date was April 10. Many homes in our neighborhood are getting new roofs. The contractor knows what he is doing both in terms of dealing with the insurance company and doing the work. But the insurance company didn't give us a hard time at all. They sent out an inspector who said we had a lot of wind damage and they cut us a check. The contractor will file paperwork for additional funds that the insurance company said they would pay.
I remember finding shingles in our yard after a storm, but I had no idea our insurance company would pay for a brand new roof for our 12 year old house, that in fact is better than the original roof. Initially I blew the guy off when they came through our neighborhood, but after watching many roofs get replaced and hearing how it worked I thought.... why not?

hail storms in the Meck area & Cabb. county area have been worse than people have realized. Tip Top Restoration replaced my roof. I didnt believe one word they told me until they were done. They delt w/ the insurance company, they did exactly what they said they would do. I had not one head ache the hole time. I have to say that I was very impressed by the whole process.
