I'm relocating from NY and need to find a rental home in a nice area with reasonable rent. I've searched online for communities and have found some in Mooresville but beyond that (the other side of the lake) I've had no success. What I'd like to find would be in a community (I don't want to be isolated) with a yard for my dogs. Any suggestions on locations? Hoping to keep rent around $850. for a two year rental.

IMHO, you would need to double that for a house rental. $850.00 would barely get you a 2 BR apt in a decent area.
Most homes in a decent area are gonna be closer to $1200 than $850. And that won't include utilities or pet deposit. This region is very large, tho. It all depends on your commuting situation. Of course, if you work at home, different situation . . . If you find something for rent in Lincolnton, let's say, and you work in Matthews, that would be an awful situation for a commute.
So you really need to give us more info b/f we can be of much assistance w/ helping you find a neighborhood w/ bargain rent. You may be retired, have your own business, etc and not be concerned about a commute.
Thanks for the input...here's the scoop. Working from home, so the commute isn't the biggest issue. As far as the rent, I've seen some Tall Oaks (and small communities like that) that are renting and townhome rentals around the 800-900 mo price, but the pets are an issue in regard to townhomes. I don't have alot of knowledge about the Mooresville area so I am unsure what the rent will get me. Judging from your response, I guess I should pass on those? I don't need to be in the point or Jetton Cove, just safe, friendly, not the only house on the block. Thanks for any info!
