Does anyone know somewhere decent around Charlotte that buys used tires/rims? Thanks.

I'm trying to avoid craigslist or ebay but I might have to resort to those if I can't find a place.

*Found some places*

Has anyone had any experience with Ford's Used Tires and Whitakers Wheels in Concord?

I cannot remember the name off-hand, but there is a place across the street from Audi of Charlotte and Queen City Lincoln/Mercury on Independence in Matthews....

I decided to bring this thread back because I'm in a similar situation. I just purchased a set of new tires and wheels for my stepson's 1999 Ford Mustang. The tires and wheels that were on the vehicle are in great condition, but they are factory wheels. I'm looking for a place that would take these wheels and tires off of my hands (while making some quick cash in the process). I know of only a few places in town that would buy them. Any suggestions of other places are welcomed.

I hope someone comes up with a suggestion, Urban. I am stuck with wheels my son changed out. I would love to make a little $$ and see them gone.

Can you please share the places that you know of, it might help the rest of us who don't know any place at all.

PS: Just curios, unless a collector type of car, myself I never see the value of adding lot's of money in an old car. The price of new tires/wheels for a '99 Mustang are probably close to 30% of its sale value, am I wrong?

Sidebar: The rim shop on Wilkinson used to have a really cool graffitti mural that said '"DIRTY SOUTH" and covered the entire east wall of the building. I noticed they whitewashed it a while back. Too bad.

You're probably going to have better luck on Craig's List than going to a wheel shop. They really won't give you very much for them. You'd probably be lucky to get $50 for a set of wheels and tires. Just set up a throwaway email and put them on CL. Or you can join forums for the particular car and try there. There are plenty of those kinds of forums out there.

You may be right. But, not every decision is bound by financial analysis. Sometimes the "value" is not quantifiable by numbers, but rather one's own personal enjoyment of a sweet ride.
