Default Best furniture stores in Charlotte.

We are looking to furnish our new home and this time want to buy GOOD QUALITY furniture. I saw something online at Haverty's that I like but I have no clue regarding their quality. Specifically we want a good couch, the kind that is actually worth re-hopolstering rather than just donating and getting a new one 4 years later.

I still have a bedroom set I bought at Haverty's 27 years ago - the quality has been good in my book!

You also want to check out Efrids

We recently got a couch from Crate and Barrell made by Lee Furniture. Lee is actually a NC manufacturer on the upper-middle end of quality. We also looked at ordering from them through another furniture distribuitor, but C&B turned out to have better prices. Very pleased with our purchase, and read the same from other customers looking for nicer couches on gardenweb.com

Restoration Hardware at Phillips Place is where I'd go first if money was no option.

Drexel Heritage in Hickory (hour away) is closing its store and all floor samples are 60% of retail. We got some great deals last weekend and it is great quality - I think the are closing the end of July.

How about Ethan Allen? Seems like they have very well constructed couches but I kind of base that off of assumptions and not facts. Also regarding price, I don't mind paying a lot for quality but I am not willing to pay for a name or fancy store. We have bought 2 couches in 8 years and the second is already starting to not feel as confortable as I would like. Thanks again.

We bought living room furniture from them ~4 years ago, and everything is still in tip-top shape, despite children and dog.
They came to our house and helped with layout and colors. I'm sure we could have paid less and gotten similar-looking pieces, but I'm very happy with the quality and service we received.

A LOT of our furniture is from Ethan Allen and the quality is very good. It's all older than 4 years too and is still in perfect shape.

If you want to take a ride www.hickoryfurnituremart.com could be an option. Look at the website to see brands and get an idea. You could easily spend an entire day there if you go in just to browse. It's big. They have a receptionist to point out the stores (will highlight them on a map for you) that might carry what it is you are in search of. Be prepared to pay a bit extra for delivery charges. It's worth it when you find exactly what you are looking for.
