Hi there
I am looking into getting some "inside scoops" and advice, because there's GOT TO BE people on here, which are involved in the restaurant business!
My husband and I would like to relocate to Mooresville area. In the meantime, he drove up, applying at places, but he didn't have any luck about employment up there....yet (At one place, he was even told that he is way "over qualified"!!! )
Are there ANY NICE places in Charlotte, where it is worth putting applications in, and handing in his resume?
He's been a bartender/ barmanager/ restaurant manager for 23 years!!!
He is used to casual elegant places, which seem to vanish slowly but surely...
We are really pressed for time, and need to get the employment issue taken care of.
Any info, advice, scoop would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!
~Smile~ and have a good day....

I don't handle the restaurant industry but there is a recruiting company out of NH that specializes in the hotel/restaurant business.
www.goodwin-associates.com
I just looked at their site and they have Charlotte jobs.

Wink Thank's for the lead and info!!!

We are trying our best, to find the best suitable place of employment, for my husband. It's certainly not easy, and it just makes me so mad, that now these days the restaurant business would consider looks over 23 years experience (and my husband doesn't look bad, by any means!)
But, he doesn't have the blond hair going, and a "proper cup size" is none excistent. (You get what I am trying to say, not to get tasteless or improper about it??) lol
I'd rather deal with knowledge, instead of a blond dizz....lol. (Sorry, I just stereotyped....I'm blond too, so, don't worry....lol)
Thank's again!

The Charlotte area is full of restaurants, hotels, catering facilities, bars, and other food service companies. It seems every time I drive around, there are several new places opening. Charlotte is growing very quickly.
It sounds like your husband looked in the Mooresville area which is quite different than Charlotte.
Johnson & Wales has a huge school in Charlotte and I have worked with their career services people. Have your husband give them a call and see if they can make any recommendations.

Might I suggest Panera Bread. They have lots of Management positions open and are growing tremendously in this area. PM me if interested and I'll get the contact info for you. The $$ is better than you'd think

I work for a huge contract foodservice company based in Charlotte. We usually have positions for GM's/chef managers due to our growth. We are the company that actually brought Johnson and wales to Charlotte. If you want, send me a PM and I will give you the url for our careers website. 23 years experience will count for a lot in our company. I may even be able to put you in contact with a recruiter.
