I have a few sets of MRI films that I know I am packing, and I am signing releases at all of my drs offices... any input? I have other radiological studies, I have a feeling I should just go get copies of all that I don't have. I have my own medical chart at home of everything else, drs visits, labs, pcp visits, mri reports, hospitalizations. Just that when you see a specialist such as Rheumatology or Neurology they need to see that MRI... I think I have answered my own ??, but any input would be much appreciated... TIA!!!

I just brought the essentials, shot records for kids and last two years office visits for the whole family. I was going to bring all my dr decided he was a little poor that month and wanted to charge me $450 for the records. So now as the dr needs any records, I have them fax the records release to the dr and have them fax it directly to this dr. A dr can't charge another dr and I am really becoming a PIA to them. Should have just copied them, but anyway sorry for rambling. I just brought the essentials but if you see specialists, then I think the MRI films may be a good idea. Can't fax those I guess LOL

That is ridiculous... I know my office charges 10 bucks finders fee 50 cents a page up to 50 then 25 cents, but if a release comes fr another office by fax or mail its free. Good thing I have is that I work for my PCP, so when my things come over from my specialists come over I make copies, I get all my labs done in the office where I work, so I have the results, and I have access to the hospital network so anything i dont have already, and I think I have most everything, i can print off. Dh is anti dr...don't have to worry much on him, I'll get the kids immunizations, make suere I have business cards for all physicians, etc... we all just had dental cleanings today and I didn't do a 6mo resch... hopefully in October we will be settled and all that good stuff. I just need to write all this in my to do cuz I am movin notebook, huh?

If you have ever had any Mammograms some hospitals/Doctors will ask for the last four years of FILMS, as well as reports. I am shocked at how much your Doctors are charging for copies of your records. I wouldn't suggest taking all of your records, maybe limit to the last 2-3 years given that they are charging you and that could really add up. Your other option would be to require films/reports for things that maybe happen frequently to you such as chronic sinus infections, migraines, cysts that require you to have frequent Ultrasounds, diabetes, etc. You may also want to request any recent blood work you have had, especially if you had a physical or thorough blood work done since once you find a PCP in NC they will probably want to run similar workup and maybe it could help so you don't get pricked again. Good luck!

Hi Ladies, Would any of you know of a good medical facility that would deal specifically with Breast Cancer high risk women for mammograms, etc.? Perhaps a women's medical facility that would also be able to do biopsies, if needed. I need to get checked every six months and I really don't want to come back to New York to do this. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, everyone.

I would love to talk to you too

You might be able to do this yourself. Look up in the blue bar where it says "my settings" (at the top of the page) and click on it, then click on the choice of "edit options". That will take you to a page where you can select the option of receiving private messages. Good luck!
