Default Possibly relocating in the fall of 2007.

Hi,
I currently live in NJ and have the opportunity of relocating to Charlotte in the fall of 2007. I currently work for the federal government and a new office will be opening in Charlotte in the fall. I can only assume the office will be located wherever other federal offices currently exist. I would love some help locating a good area to purchase a home. I would like:
1. a home between 225k to 250k in a great school district.
2. would like to be about 1/2 hr from work. i currently commute about 1 hr 45 min each way.
3. i would also like a home with about 1/4 acre of land. i have 2 small girls and a puppy, so they need some room to run around.
4. of course, i would like a good neighborhood.

I have seen good things about concord, huntersville, and waxhaw. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

thanks,

michael

Default York County - Lake Wylie Area

Michael,

Charlotte is definately a great area to live in and I think you are making a good move. I actually live in York County, SC near Rock Hill and very close to the shores of Lake Wylie. My home is approximately 35 minutes from Charlotte. We are in an excellent school district and the property taxes are approximately $1500 for a 200K home. You might want to check our community out at mysunsetpoint.com. The neighborhood is built out, but there are nice homes for sale in the 200K range, plus you have a pool, boat storage and beach on Lake Wylie.

Luke
