Default Time Warner

Time Warner just went up on my cable/internet bill again!! Has anyone found a viable alternative in University City?

I found out that Time Warner internet was expensive. I took Earthlink.. and guess what Earthlink is just the company and phone number I called to order it.. the service is provided by TWC for Earthlink. Billed by TWC for earthlink. BUT the rate is determined by Earthlink.. so the promotional price of $40 that TWC kept saying for 7Mbps Internet. I got the same from TWC coz I called Earthlink to get the service for $29.99

Chat with TWC online sales team and see if they'll do a deal.

The key with Time Warner is to skip the customer service phone number and go right to their retention department (no sure I can post the number here, but will send via DM if you need it). I gave them a call this morning letting them know that I was thinking about cancelling my service and after some negotiation and a lot of time on hold, they ended up slashing my monthly bill by 23% to keep me as a customer, and I am not locked into anything, so I can cancel at any time with no fees whatsoever.

Really have nothing to lose, so I would definitely suggest you give it a shot, but if they call your bluff, just make sure you have a backup plan. Best of luck!

pls send me that number. Not only did my TWC cable bill go up, but my internet (pay extra for roadrunner turbo... joke!) is at times extremely slow. Like this morning for example. Slow on 2 computers connected directly to one router, so it is not the computer. Is it my router? I am sure it is TWC but I can't spend an hour on the phone with their tech who will ultimately tell me their equipment is working just fine.

No problem, just sent it via DM. One thing I forgot to add is that I never once mentioned the price increases, competition like directv, or anything else that could be viewed as a "threat", as I wanted to keep the conversation professional, positive and friendly, since I figure they probably get tons of people upset over something and demanding "free stuff" or "crazy deals", so I decided to take a different route and it ended up working really well.

Hope it helps!
