Having lived in Fl. for 20 yrs, its time for a change, house insurance, taxes
heat, humitity, traffic and new influx of unfriendly people have taken their toll and I want to get further North........so being a half-back isn't should a bad idea. No kids to worry about, just two adults and dog/cat.

Where should I start looking? We like museums, lakes, oldies/doowop, bookstores, volunteer work........

Cost of living higher? Property Taxes? Weather.......has to be better than Fl.
I would think, is there 3 seasons? Snow?

House Prices that I've looked at on Remax seem rather good, looking to spend
$135.000 to 150,000 any areas perferred?

Thank you......Songbird

I guess it all keeps coming back to what area you would prefer to be. The Charlotte metro area and it's suburbs have the most beautiful areas. It really seems to be either south Charlotte Union county, Ballantyne or the Lake Norman area. Those are the most popular anyway. If you couldn't care less about living near the lake check out some of the neighborhoods in S Charlotte or Concord. If schools are important they will factor in too, plus where you will work is another thing.

150,000 for a house? Maybe some realtors can chime in for assistance.

Do not look to live in the Charlotte city limits in that price range. Instead check out nearby Concord, Harrisburg, Huntersville, Mt. Holly, Gastonia of even Monroe - all bedroom communities of Charlotte but with better pricing on homes

Disaster struck last week when my computer crashed. Now of course I have backups of most of my stuff, but my son was working on a project (due this Monday) so we were trying to save his project. Latest word is that we will get the data off the hard drive, but only after his project is due. I am truly getting tested this week! My next gift to him is a flash drive!!

Now, viewers, back to the original thread...
