Why are pit bulls overflowing in shelters?! Do you honestly think the reason is because they are aggressive toward humans? No, a lot of them are in shelters simply because owners can not handle a breed that is dog aggressive. Many times people have one pit bull, end up getting another pit bull and they do not get along. People do not care to educate themselves prior to getting a pit bull. You can never guarantee a pit bull not to fight. The responsible owners are aware of this and are prepared to "crate and rotate" when they have more than one pit bull. That is why as a responsible pit bull owner I tell people NEVER to take them to dog parks! NEVER leave a pit bull alone with another dog. This behaviour has absolutely nothing to do with being aggressive toward humans.
To all the people that think pit bulls should be banned, never be around children, etc, etc, it is about ignorance. People spew falsehoods because they do not know ANYTHING about the history of this breed. They only go by what they see on the media. It is much more difficult to do research on your own and find out more information than it is to sit in front of a tv and believe everything you see and hear.
