Good morning,

My family & I moved to Charlotte a few weeks ago, and we are looking for childcare for our son and church for our family. We live in SW Charlotte near the 77/485 interchange.

As far as childcare goes....our son is 20 months old. I posted some ads online on different childcare sites. We found a few potential candidates, but also found A LOT of people asking for money than I could even make in a full-time job! We are willing to consider daycare centers, in-home family childcare centers, or individuals who can provide care in their own home. Price range is $100-150/wk. If you know of anyone or any centers in SW Charlotte worth checking out, please let me know.

Now for church....my husband and I have not attended church regularly for a long time, but we would like to change that. The church I grew up in is rather solemn and doesn't seem to fit what I'm looking for anymore. At one time I was going to a non-denominational Christian church that was small, upbeat, uplifting, and had a very strong family feeling to it. This is what I would like to find in this area. Any suggestions?

If you need more details on either topic, please let me know.

Thanks!!

you are not going to find good care for 100-150/week. bump that up to $200/week and you might find something mediocre in the way of a childcare center, but not a person who is solely caring for your child. most decent centers around Charlotte are around $250/week for your child's age, and if you are looking for a babysitter/nanny, you will be paying at a minimum $400-$500/week, unless it's a teenager.

I recently attended a revival where the pastor of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church was speaking. From the description he gave of his congregation, I think you would enjoy this church. It is located in SW Charlotte:

I second Good Shepherd! It is large, but no one feels like an outsider there. As far as daycare goes, good luck finding something in the $100-$150 range. My daughter just finished her daycare at Lollipop on John Price Road. $200 a week, they were great with her.
