Hey, if the deal is there for you and it doesnt' hurt you financially, go for it.
Actually, considering the age/mileage engine condition and what hurricane wilma did to the car...I would maybe get $500...so no, I couldn't get rid of it and replace it right now without the cash for clunkers programs. And also "YOU" aren't paying for MY rebate...WE are ALL paying for rebates on cars that will make us as a country use less oil and produce less emissions. And, not to mention save us ALL money in the long run.

I think alot of scamming took place. If anyone failed to get the dealers best price BEFORE he asked for the incentive it just let the dealers play games with the real prices. I bet alot of the "clunkers" arent destroyed either.

You're absolutely right about those clunkers.....They don't go to "Car Heaven" - they go to SC! "What!! Car Inspections"!!! "We don't care if they don't have them doors!"

SC is not the only state without inspections. You should drive thru the city of Chicago and see what people drive there!!

(the idea is: the crappier looking the car is, the less likely it would be to be stolen!)

He said the administration of it is terrible and so laborious that is not worth the time it takes them to do the deals. I believe "nightmare" was the word he used.

The only thing I didn't like the program is that they didn't let ME seize the engine on the clunker when we traded it in the other night. The dealers are required to drain the oil, fill the engine with a specific solution, and then run the engine until it seizes. Then a salvage company removes the vehicle.

Other than that, we are lovin' our new set of wheels. Thanks to Uncle O and the folks that voted him in. Ya'll are great!
