Even better than that were the feasts that my parents took me to in Brooklyn where my Grandparents lived, they were the "Big Daddy's!!!!" It would be awesome with all of the northerners moving down here if we were able to rekindle these feasts. What a great time!!!

We should all get together and get something going like that.

Wow! Great to hear/see that there are many Italians in and around Charlotte.
I'm half Italian(Naples!), half French...I would be interested in joining an Italian Heritage club too when I get down there.

I just signed on at Camden Sedgebrook and I'll be down there within three weeks..can't wait!

Wink Italian/American Club in Charlotte, NC

The name of the club that puts on the event is the Christopher Columbus Italian Club of Charlotte and you can view their website at: Home

The event is called the Ciao! Italia Festival and it is now held in October around Columbus Day. It's fun and good food!

I am 25% Italian. There are a lot of guidos around here. Hard to find very authentic Italian food, but there are a few places. It seems the Italians forget how to make it when they move here or they just can't get the correct products to use. The festival in Ft. Mill is pretty good and the food is unexpctedly good.

Default They know cannoli

Saw your post about Cannoli being mis-spelled at the Italian Club's booth at last year's Taste of Charlotte. The Taste of Charlotte organizers provide all the booth signage so the mistake was theirs, not the Club's.

Those people know how to spell cannoli--they've been eating them all their lives.
