just being nosey, but....
i was riding by one of my neighbors homes and i saw a sheriff and a truck with a Realty companies name on it parked in the front. when i drove back around, i saw the sheriff delivering him some papers.

drove by just now and i see a yellow sign in the window, looks like it has the sheriff star on it but i can't make out what it says.
fyi: the guy is renting.

anyone know what that sign means??

It's most likely now a foreclosure and may be in the process of being auctioned off!

Or both.

Sheriff handles foreclosure and rental evictions.

I thought a law was in place, tho, that if someone is renting and the house goes into foreclosure, the person renting cannot be evicted w/o at least a month or two of notice. But I could be wrong.

Wouldn't it be great to be paying your rent on time and then learn the homeowner wasn't paying the mortgage . I heard it happens more than you think.

I have heard this, too. CNN had some stories about folks who had this happen to them. What a nightmare.

It happens all of the time, I see it first hand as I work on bank owned properties. Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae owned properties will have protection for the tenants very soon.

Not to worry guys, the bright yellow sign with red writing shows an eviction. (not a foreclosure).
