I understand waiting for bus lol but you can almost set your watch to these buses and they run very frequent during rush hour commute hours

I guess you might as well count light rail out if you wanting speed. There will be least 3 to 4 stops between huntersville and uptown.

With all the stops and time to stop the train, the train will be lucky to do 35 mph as a top speed.

My fiance has been taking the bus to work in NYC for about 7 years so it wouldn't be a problem at all. You don't have much of a choice here unless you want to ride the subway. Yuck. All I know is I want to move back to the normality and peace of the burbs. Hope you guys don't mind two more Northerners, but if you would stop making it so darn ideal down there, then maybe we would stop coming !!

Red face Huntersville

Taking a CATS bus, which I do most of the time and highly recommend, will cut about 5 - 10 minutes off of that.

You can add about 10 - 15 minutes to those times for the Friday afternoon commute. The only way that commute would turn into an hour or more would be a very severe accident where multiple lanes are blocked. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a house in Birkdale and commute to uptown.
I wouldn't personally go north past exit 23 in Huntersville. It adds more time to your commute. Rosedale built by Centex is a cute little neighborhood at exit 23 with brand new homes about $275-300k range, maybe a little less, 3000 sq ft, 2 year warranties, a social community, and just a nice location for shopping from exit 18 (N. Char.) to 25 (Birkdale) to 33 (Mooresville) and over to Concord Mills Mall area. We also have the little convenient plazas close like Rosedale Commons and Marketplace Square. MS is adding on MSII and there will be Torrence Village across the street. You can see the building going on.

I also believe it will be a good investment as the community is almost complete and all of the conveniences around it. With the location, I think it will be a nice neighborhood very commutable to Charlotte, especially for those that move up into Cornelius and Mooresville and expect to commute, and then decide that they aren't happy with the commute...
