How is that possible? They should be entitled to at least something after paying into the system.

Charlotte,

Please post a detailed monthly budget with all monthly expenses and we'll be happy to identify opportunities for reducing your living expenses. We'll help your lifestyle fit that $8-$9/hour job.

If that doesn't work, let's figure out how you can improve your skill set or further your education so can attain a higher paying job.

I know they're broke, but I don't see anything on here about unemployment being suspended. I'm pretty sure money is earmarked for this and the fund is restricted. They should definitely double check on this. And the feds should be helping out, too.

I think it almost anyone was going to lose money by working vs. on unemployment I doubt anyone would chose to work. I sure as hell wouldn't. And I've held a regular job since I was around 14 when I started delivering newspapers on my bike.

I second the advice from a previous poster: Keep looking for $15/hour jobs for now while improving your skill set. Get some computer software training books or take a few classes somewhere. 2 months before it's set to run out, if you haven't found anything, then it's time to take the $9/hour job.

I am leaning towards this. I need to improve my skills some in order to get a 15 dollar an hour job. If I go out and work 60+ hours a week for 8 bucks an hour this will surely keep me from getting the skills I need. I will not listen to the people telling me to go out right now and get an 8 dollar an hour job. The unemployment is there to keep us up on our feet until we find the right job. Its kind of like if Ken Lewis the CEO of Bank of America lost his job, would he go out right away and find a min. wage job? Probably not
