I have 2 dead trees in my backyard. Not large trees but just big enough that I can't do the job myself. Only want them cut to the ground, no stump grinding. I have called a couple of the named places (trucks on the road) and have been given estimates of $400 ($200 per tree) or more. Estimated time of the job is less than 1 hour.

Does anyone know a reasonably priced tree service in the Matthews area?

I thought Heartwood Tree was reasonably priced and they did a good job. I had about 10 trees and I think it was $900

Not to hijack this thread too much, but since some of you have used these companies... any idea of a rough rate for pruning large trees? Got two oaks maybe 40' tall + that have dead and crossed branches up top, are we talking thousands or hundreds?

I have never had them pruned but I can't imagine it would be more than having one cut down. I would say more in the hundreds.
