Default Info about towns & cities outside of Charlotte (Southern areas)

I am thinking of moving to the Charlotte area and was wondering how a couple of the small towns and cities on the outside of Charlotte were as far as crime, schools and appearance was concerned.

I am concentrating right now mainly on Union County. I will be going to Charlotte soon and wanted to focus on these areas (in this order): Wesley Chapel, Waxhaw, Weddington and Union. I know that Ballantyne is a very nice area, but I won't be able to afford to live there as of right now.

I would like to know, aside of the crime, dangers, schools and appearance of the towns, how long does it take to get into the center of the city of Charlotte... also how long does it take to get to the major ER Hospitals in the Charlotte area. Is there a lot of traffic when going into Charlotte???

Thanks for any info... all help is appreciated, thank you.
