Default Campfire cooking

Some of the neatest stuff I've learned as a GS leader has been campfire cooking. Anybody else ever done any "dutch oven cooking?" I'll have to dig out some of the recipes. There was one for extra, extra, extra caffeinated coffee...I think they called it "rocket fuel" or something.

I would love to hear the rocket fuel one!

I remember as a kid making the coolest things. We would make a bisquick type dough, but way thicker. Then we would goo it onto a thick stick and hold it over the fire until it was "baked." Then we would pull it off the stick and fill it with just about anything......tomato sause with pepperoni, sugar and cinn., pie filling, whatever.....I just remember after a long hike, it tasted like the best stuff on earth!

Dawn

I have 3 boys...one's a Bear Scout..when it came to building his derby car, it was like a top secret mission!! Then on race day...the fathers all got really "huffy" about some of the kids cars and if the kids actually built them, it got a little silly....they showed a movie about the derby at one of our pack meets...and dang if every father IRL didn't act like they did in that movie...

I sat back just watching....secretly laughing it up!!!! It was an experience...this year of scouts is winding down but I am SOOO looking forward to next year!!!

Haha, that is Bill Gates' mugshot, one of my favorites! Isn't it awesome?

Doesn't he have a famous quote that says, "be kind to dorks, one day they will be your boss!"
