Decided to pass on Phoenix, Hello Charlotte.
Just want to share with those who cares. I have decided to pass on Phoenix and will move to Charlotte. Seeing all the brown trees and dirt make me miss Charlotte soo much. I just like to thank all the positive feedback from all the ones that took their time in convincing me that Charlotte is the place to raise a family. LovesMountains you are the greatest, Sheena way too cool, and all others, I Thank you very much. God Bless.

Oh Zen, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I remember flying home to Phoenix on my last trip and flying into Sky Harbor looked like I was flying into a dirt pile. I also noticed the trees lined on the streets were dry and lifeless. I had never noticed that before. The things you take for granted. I was sooooo green starved and never knew it. Phx I will always consider home (even though a am a native NY'er)it will always hold a special place in my heart.
I wish you best of luck here and I hope you find all your hearts desire in Charlotte. PM me if you need anything

Hello from Charlotte: from a native Phoenician
I read the entire thread you started and wanted to put in my two cents.
I was born and raised in Phoenix, graduated from high school there in 1970 and left for the Navy. I returned in 1980, stayed for two years and left again. Returned in 1991 and left again in 1994. I don't expect to return.
I moved to the Charlotte area (York, SC) in 2004 and love it. The weather here is great; not nearly as humid as it is in much of the South; lived in Louisiana, and Alabama.
I am disappointed in Phoenix only because it has just gotten too big. All the comparisons to Southern California were spot on in my opinion. The only thing missing is the beach.
The only really big things I miss in Charlotte are Evaporative Cooling and good Sonoran style mexican food. Everything else is as good or better. Like the beach? Go two hours east and you've got it. Like the mountains, head the opposite direction and be in the Smokey Mountains.
I hope you are enjoying Charlotte.
