question about 485?
I do not travel 485 often at all. I know that there is an exit for Fort Mill/Hwy. 160.
Does that eventually take you to 77?
TIA

It sure does. But even easier is getting off the I-77 exit- number 67. 160 is Steele Creek- I beieve the speed limit is 45, with commercial and residential development. 485 to 77 will always be the faster way.

Yes, if you take 160 hwy it will take you to the 77 and pop you on exit 85. I think 87 is the truck route, does that sound right Hoagie?

Thanks
When we are headed through there, it will be early morning and we should miss all the traffic.
I am hoping that will cut some time off of heading to Columbia.

That route has many many stop lights. You are better off taking I-77 from I-485. The I-77 South entrance from 160 West is right after Baxter on your right. To get to here the way you want to from 485 is aggravating with the number of lights, starting from Rivergate all the way to Baxter.

Here is a map
As others have said your best bet is to travel just a few miles down to the 77 exit.

K. Was going to say if you were coming from the north part of town, depending on the hour (7 or earlier) 85 or 77 are both faster straight through, than going around the loop.
