Nancy - you are so right - Lady GaGa is actually talented! I just don't get the "get ups." Funky and amusing like Elton John "back in the day" is one thing . . . but raunchy - I dunno. Madonna pushed all that about as far as it could go without becoming cliche. I think burlesque is making its way back onto the stage, with a twist. Lady GaGa could stick to that schtick, as it were, and it would work. Of course, folks are buying the records so what do I know, Hee Hee.

Sunny - your idea about Kris on stage. Agree - that would work.

Speaking of venues . . . I am so looking forward to heading to the newly opened Bechtler museum! This is what I have felt is missing in Charlotte - more museums and venues. I am very excited about this one.

GM...very cold indeed, but nothing wakes you up like a 5 minute walk from your car to the office front door. I had to park in the wayyyy back of the lot today. Beats any cup of coffee I have ever had.

Actually, the high for my former town in Kansas (burb of KCMO) is under 10 degrees today. I just checked and the temp there right now (1 pm) is 6 degrees. When I lived there, this was not considered extreme cold. When we hit -30 below wind chill factor - now THAT was considered extreme cold, LOL.

It is for people who are not used to it. It has not been this cold on a consistent basis for over 20 years here. So, maybe not for people who have experience in this...

Is that true? I could have sworn it has gotten this cold since I moved back here. Or maybe it is b/c so many days in the 30s? or night temps? I ask b/c I noticed someone else posted (on another forum) that they thought this was the coldest it had been in 20 years and I wondered what they really meant.

Yes, it has been on the news. I think the point is that it has been consistently below normal for an extended period of time. We may have had 30 degree temps and/or a cold night, but, only for a couple of days at most. Here, we are talking a cold spell of two weeks.

Eric Thomas is saying that if this continues without a day or two of normal temps, that we will have had the coldest Jan in our history!
