You must try Amelie's in NoDa. The desserts are amazing and it has a really funky coffehouse vibe. It is definitely a new favorite spot.

mullman, glad that you are up and around. If you had what I had in Jan; that was horrid. Still say that was the swine flu, can't prove it.

Lots of fun stuff going on this weekend....and, it should be dry!

me thinks that SC is now trying to out-do IL in the embarrassed-to-have-lived-in-that-state category

Morning all.

Labby decided to get up at 5:15 this morning. I tried for 10 minutes to convince him to go back to bed but he sat staring at me and making groaning noises. So, I took him out in the dark, owl hooting again this AM. A car comes down the street in which the headlights make shadowy figures so Labby starts barking. I was a little suspicious of what the car was doing as I noticed a couple of mailboxes damaged at the front of our sub-division. I heard a strange noise a few houses down and decided to wait until the sun came up to check it out. It turns out it was the paper delivery guy.

Thanks ChiC. When it's dark I don't go any farther than my own fence.

Hmm, could've been me depending on the neighborhood, although I do try to keep any noise down to a minimum.

Speaking of which, anyone want a paper route? I've given mine up, and with just two days left they haven't found anyone to replace me yet. Do it through the holiday season and you should see some serious tips.

I walk my lab every morning at 5:15am and we see all sorts of shadows. Deer, rabbits galore and more. The past two mornings I have been a little spooked as the dog is on high alert for some reason and I too am suspicious if I see a car coming into the neighbourhood. It's interesting to see how many people go to work at 5:30am. A couple of our street lights have been out for a while and it's amazing how dark one or two spots on the road can be. I must say I miss the bright mornings and hate walking in the dark. Our poor dog thinks walkies only take place in the dark as my husband walks him at midnight every night. No wonder he gets over excited when we take him out during the daylight hours!!
