I can now add turtle rescuer to my resume. So I let labby out back and next thing I know he is barking up a storm, I figured his ball must have rolled under something and he couldn't get it. So as I look out our sunroom window he's just scratching the ground and barking and I see a shape of something? Could it be he finally caught a squirrel? No, it was the turtle that was under my car yesterday! So of course when I told him "NO!" it was on! I grabbed his leash and tried to get him to come and he finally gets a hold of the turtle and starts running around the backyard with it. So I went to the garage and got a shovel and bucket. I waited until he dropped it and wasn't paying attention and got the bucket over the turtle, then tried to catch labby to leash him up. Finally got labby and in the house he goes. I gently scooted the tutle with the shovel into the bucket and placed him in the wooded lot across the street which has a little stream. Poor little guy had no idea what he was in for.

You are good to save him. We used to have a turtle and our big lab/springer mix was scared to death of him!

LOL Nancy I just got back from Charleston/Isle of Palms and there were turtles EVERYWHERE! They were so cute I wanted to steal one and bring it home w/ me, but I figured my dog woulda done the same thing as yours. Saw some gators too, did NOT want to bring those home.
I'll post some pictures of them later!

The Boat House Restaurant on Isle of Palms is my favorite! Yeah, I'm with you on the gators!
I still can't believe Woody ran around with a turlte, goofy dog.

I have 2 yard sticks in a corner and Woody is afraid of them, if his ball rolls in that corner he won't even grab it. I guess I can put them away now. When he was a puppy everything he played with went under the sofa at least 10 times a night so I had a yard stick close by to fish the stuff out instead of moving the sofa.

Oh I don't think we went there ? The only place we ate in Isle of Palms was Morgan Creek Grill which was really good. The restaurants in Charleston however were AMAZING!
I would have loved to see your dog running w/ the turtle. LOL! Sounds like a photo op!
