Just realized it's getting dark much earlier, and this cool day has really got me thinking of the joys of autumn in Charlotte. I know, we'll have some more hot 'n humid ones, but the crisp air and bright colors are right around the corner! Yay!
What do you enjoy about this change of season here in the south?
I cannot WAIT for the change of seasons... actually, I can't wait for winter! I walk my shih tzu four or five times a day, and I am tired of sweating buckets and having to hose him off in the tub to keep him from overheating, let me tell ya.
I was so excited to walk outside this morning to cool temperatures... if only it would stay this way!
leaves change in the mountains middle of octocber
and the end of october here
There are some trees here in the mountains that have already started changing. We haven't had a warm summer up here. MANY days when I've gotten home from work at 5:30pm it's been in the 60s. We've had a lot more rain this summer than last, so it may translate into even more brilliant colors.
The kids and I went to get Italian ice tonight, and my daughter was complaining that she was cold . Sheesh we have not even been here for 3 months!
I am looking forward to being able to hang out by the back enclosed porch for meals or just hanging. It's too humid right now to do that, although I'm loving the pool weather

Oh lovely! Looking forward to a trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Pisgah Forest, the Pink Beds (which practically fluoresces in the fall) and hopefully time for lots of back roads.
not to throw a bucket of water on this whole thing, but, I, for one, dread the cold weather coming. I LOVE summer and really hate being cold!
For you, dear Chicago, I wish many of the sunny, bright blue skies, beamish days of fall, so you won't get too cold too soon!!
