I used to have an i35, loved that car, and that seems crazy expensive to me. i wouldn't use a dealer for service unless I purchased a service agreement w/ them when I bought the car. Jmo.

Default G35 60k Service

From the infinitihelp.com website:
Independent Shops: $330 (based on $60/hr labor)
Chain Shops: $360 ($75/hr labor)
Factory Dealers $390 ($90/hr labor)

Parts come out to about $30 regardless.

Go to: Infiniti Maintenance Schedules and it will list the components replaced and inspected for a 60k service. The 60k service is not much more than a "tune up", change/clean plugs, motor oil, filters, etc.

I owned an FX35 for 5 years and Infiniti service is nice, but not required. When I came to Charlotte, I used Griffin Bros and they did it for about 60% of what Infiniti charged.

Do they want to change a timing belt, and maybe water pump too? That would be very conservative, probably unnecessary, but if it doesn't include that - $1400 is pretty outrageous.

We also had an FX35, for about 4 or 5 years. The tires were very expensives (19's). Loved the car, really miss it, especially driving on Hucks Road, awesome handling!!!. But couldn't afford the $1000 for tires. We just did regular stuff, oil changes, tire rotations, think we did the air filter also. We had almost 60K on it when we traded it in for a Honda Pilot. We also used Griffin for the maintenance. They are a little more expensive than your typical maintenance shop, but they were more familiar with the Inifinities.

I have an M35. I just had my 15K mile service and it was less than $300. I can't imagine that the 60K service would/should quadruple that price! Was this at Infiniti of Charlotte?

$900-$1400 @60,000 miles - that's alot. I go to Infiniti of Charlotte on Independence. They quoted me $670 fof the 60K - which includes a few things that other dealers may not do. Infiniti of South Alanta was going to charge me $470. I could, however, see the charges going into the low $900's based on additional "recommended" work.

On another note, anybody having excessive oil consumption problems. My 06 G 35 was consuming oil at a very fast rate. Long story short, the timing belt would rattle. I had a oil consupton test done and Infiniti is giving me a new engine. GREAT DEAL!!
