Hello everyone, it's time for me to move again. This time, from a 1-bedroom apartment to a place with at least 2-bedrooms. I've been searching for places in and around uptown, but am not sure about the neighborhoods that came up. If you are familiar with the below neighborhoods, please comment on their safety (especially regarding break-ins) and quietness. My contribution here is the information that my uptown apartment in the Fourth Ward was broken into this Summer during a festival or something. I thought that uptown apartments were safe, but that night, several apartments were broken into together.

- 8th St and Ridgeway Ave (googlemap)
- S Kings Dr and Hopedale Ave (between Carolinas Medical Center and Freedom Park) (googlemap)
- Park Rd and Ordermore Ave (googlemap)
- N McDowell St and 16th St (googlemap)
- Arnold Dr and Central Ave (near Charlotte Country Club) (googlemap)
- Richland Ave and Craig Ave (googlemap)
- Parkwood Ave and Seigle Ave (googlemap)

And, I'm thinking about renting a house instead of an apartment, because I like the "house" feel (right on the ground and etc.). If I rent a house and any repair need occurs, should I pay for the repair?

Thanks!
Rick

The only one I would even consider is S. Kings and Hopedale - let the rest go.
