I have a job offer in Charlotte that I'm almost positive I'm accepting, however, I want to make sure this is the right decision. If, for whatever reason, the job that I'm getting doesn't work out for me, will it be easy for someone with an MBA to get a job in Charlotte? Is everything available going to be a finance job or are there marketing jobs available? Besides B of A and Wachovia, what other companies might hire MBAs? What would salary ranges be?

The job that I will be doing in Charlotte is a good job at a good company but I will be moving my life to a new city and buying a house. I just want to make sure I have alternatives in case the first job doesn't work out down the line.

MBAs are hired at both banks in Marketing positions, including marketing management and product management. You're not restricted to finance.

Do a 6 month lease and make sure you like the area before you buy a house.

Your as marketable as you make yourself. Network, network, Network is the best advice I can give you. You just never know when you will cross paths with someone who can help you down the road. Also, do everything professionally, don't burn any bridges.
