I was wondering if things got better here with the job market. I knew it hadn't when a small part time position opened here in my community and over 500 resumes showed up in the fax for it over a 3 day period.

I am sorry and hope things look up for you soon!

I had two acquaintances remaining in Char following the economic meltdown.

In the last month, both of those gals were laid off from professional positions in Charlotte.

I keep seeing the news say that things are getting better but my friends keep losing jobs all over the state... and I keep hearing clients say they can't find jobs and now that I'm interviewing again, I realize just how insignificant my 5 years of experience are when I'm competing against people with 30 yrs in the same field willing to work for the same pay.

It's tough out there... as many others have said... good luck and stay strong.

Default Jobs

Has anyone looking for work considered the hote/hospitality business?
I never did but after getting laid off from a major C.C. company I found myself working as a PBX Operator for a luxury hotel! Its wonderful and I make almost the same money. They have concierge positions, Meeting specialist and sales and catering positions. Give it a try, it's a whole new world out there and sometimes change can be for the better.
