Heh..I'll tell you what was the end for me. It was a hot summer night and I was going to go out in town. I was dressed up and since it was only a half mile and I'd had a few at home i walked. Well, halfway there, I was dripping with sweat. It was over 80 and sooooo humid. Well, I turned around and went back to change my shirt. I started out again and by the time I got downtown, I was dripping with sweat again. I got a cab back home and went to sleep. I called my boss the next morning and asked for my old position back. A couple months later i was outta there! Great city Sarasota, but the heat , my god, the heat!

See I wouldn't have sat there. I would have, after the 2nd light move over (if possible), went straight, found a place to do a U-turn & been on my way.

I would just go up to the next street & turn around. Or if there is a gas station, turn there. I am surprised that that light at Providence & Fairview was that short. I thought it was longer.
There are a few Queens Rd. Just like there are a few Kings Rd. They were named that to confuse the British during the Rev. War.

Don't worry it even confuses people who have lived here for years. I never go by street names- I go by landmarks .

In VA, we'd complain to VDOT (Va dept of transportation) about the light intervals and eventually they'd correct it....try telling NCDOT about that light...maybe enough people reporting the problem will get them to reset the timing on it....

Yea, but that would be the tip of the iceberg ...Its just a left turn light,...then traffic the other way would be a mess.
