Ive shopped at Carolina place on a regular basis since the mid 2000s. Is that area headed in the same directions as Eastland?

Carolina Place Mall

Eastland Mall (some harsh language)

Um, I don't see (or hear) a resemblance.

I can't even shop there for myself anymore...all the stores have turned into stores I have never even heard of..Poppy Pia...Urban Mix...??? I think it is headed the way of Eastland. Which is sad since they did the additions a couple o years ago it had hope. I was there last weekend with my children and saw too many sad and strange things going on throughout the mall to even feel comfortable taking my kids their again...I'll spare you the icky details but I saw two different teens who were definitely on some type of drug and I got asked if I had any spare change in the food court.

I ONLY go to Carolina Place for one thing: Sears tools.
I'm in and out ASAP, the traffic there is atrocious.

I agree...Sears! That is one of those places we seem to "need" to go to from time to time!

That is a sad question. I remember we used to go there from Salisbury to see a "cool, modern mall." Wow!

God forbid there are some stores at the mall that cater to something other than the south Charlotte yuppies! Yes they have some stores that cater to the skateboarders/alt crowd so you will see some interesting kids walking around.

If you don't want to see anything icky, stick with SouthPark. I am pretty sure none of the plastic trophy wifes will offer you a roofie.

It definitely is not easy to get in and out of there but I don't think it is quite as bad as Eastland or even headed that way.

Absolutely! Who's ever heard of Dillard's, Macy's, Belk, Barnes & Noble and REI?

Carolina Place Directory

I'm sure all the drug addled teens are hanging out at the Build-A-Bear Workshop, too.

I'm sure you're trying to make a point, but let's not blow things out of proportion.
