Default Do Pistols need to be registered in NC?

I have a registered handgun in the state of New Jersey. If I bring the gun into NC, must it be registered?

I did multiple searches, but couldn't find any reference.

Thanks
Al

Thanks for the Info all.

My pistol was purchase primarily for competition target shooting (22 Ruger) and is semi-automatic.

In Reading the Gun Ownership Faq, I see Machine guns are prohibited in NC. Why the heck would anyone want to own a Machine Gun? Egads!

Al

Contact the local sheriff's department in the county you are moving to and they will give you any info you need.

Just for fun...that's all. they're not practical for anything other than an annual full-auto shoot and the apocalypse...at which point, local laws be damned!

If you're looking for more detailed info on local competitive shooting, check out CarolinaShootersForum.com - Powered by vBulletin Lots of good info there.

If you can afford the ammo a fully automatic weapon is a blast.
