Where to get ready made fresh sushi?
hey all:
I live over in West Charlotte near Belmont....the Harris Teeter in Gastonia has a sucky seafood department and doesn't have a fresh sushi counter. The only place I've been able to find it is up there in Huntersville, off Sam Furr Road. (all good, by the way!! yum!) Do you know of anyplace closer where I can get ready made sushi?

Try Lowe's in Gastonia - Exit 21 turn left - stay on the road it will go into a road called armstrong and then lowe's is near the left side after the second intersection.
Happy Eating. There is a japanese resturant in MT Holly too, they are down Hawthrone Road Past the Tuckeseegee intersection they have drive through.

OK, cool. I'll go check it out. Good info to know. Not necessarily looking for a sushi restaurant (although I hear there is a good one in Birkdale Village in Huntersville--have a friend that lives up there) more like sushi you can take home with you, already made.
Oh, and thanks for the suggestion to look in Cramerton as a possible place to reside.
Wwwaasaaabi! :0)

I like Nikko in Charlotte, they have a location in Ballantyne and one on South Blvd. Sushi 101 is also nice and has really unique rolls. I've been to Ru Sans also which was ok, I haven't been there that much to form an opinion.

Yes, I heard that Nikko was quite good, as my hubby has been there for lunch with his work crowd...ballantyne/SC border.

I had sushi while I visited Charlotte, and it was pretty good, but I can't remember the name of the place. It was in East Charlotte by the Rooms to Go and Ashley Furniture, if that helps

I miss good japanese food!
I used to eat fresh sushi almost everyday for lunch, whenever it was my choice to pick, I would pick sushi. I really miss it, being in this area, west of Charlotte. For that matter, I miss not having a Fresh Market and other grocery stores besides BI Lo and Food Lion. BTW, the walmart in Belmont stopped selling anything organic in their produce dept, including tofu!! That is unheard of, Tofu??? I'm not talking about it being organic, just the regular kind of tofu that most grocery store carry. This just started about a week ago. I inquired and they don't know why tofu was pulled.
Sake III in Mt Holly, is not a japanese restaurant - it's a japanese-menu fast-food place. there is a difference. A japanese restaurant, one would expect to have freshly-made sushi and other japanese food (including authentic japanese rice) and isn't prepared like fast-food... I'm not dissing their food but it's certainly not what I would call a 'japanese restaurant' IT's the same kind of japanese fast-food chain restaurant Belmont has off of exit 27, right next to Bank of America.
