Moving to Charlotte from Cary
Hi everyone . I will be moving next month from Cary, NC to Charlotte because of my husbands job. Im really nervous because I know nothing about Charlotte, and I will be alone about 3 days/nights a week.
I would like to know if any of you have heard anything about the High Meadow Apartments community, there located on Farmhurst Dr. in the 28217 zip code. If your not familiar with these apts, any information about this general area would be helpful, I believe its South Charlotte. Thanks in Advance

Stacey, you do not want to live in that area - especially as a female who will be left alone at night.
What is your budget for a place? I can try to suggest some other options.

Well our rent now is 700 we wanted to stay around that range, no more than 750. I thought 545 for a 2 bedroom was too good to be true.

In Charlotte, yes it is hard to get a two bedroom under $700 in a good area. Give these a look, they are in better areas where you could feel safer:

LOL LOL LOL! And when was the last time YOU walked down Nations Ford at night? The worst thing that would happen if you did would be some "brotha" asking you for your phone number. That's it!!! You would not be in any danger at all.

Check out these three rentals. Two bedrooms rent for nearly $750 per month; all three are walking distance from the Tyvola and Archdale light rail stations. They are all located in the 28217 zip BTW.
Ashford Place
For apartments in North Carolina or apartments in Charlotte, Ashford Place is your new home!
Beacon Hill
Beacon Hill Apartment Homes in Charlotte, NC
South Oak Crossing
home
I lived in Ashford place when I first moved back to Charlotte from Kentucky 2 years ago. I LOVED it there. The neighborhood is probably 75% hispanic and EVERYONE is very friendly. Also, the children in this neighborhood are extremely well mannered (our American born children should take notes from the hispanic kids). Anyways, this is the South Blvd. area of town and it has a VERY different feel than anywhere in Cary (and Raleigh for that matter).

Urban, I have always made it a point on these threads to only recommend places that I myself would personlly live, or have personally lived.
Since I would never live off of Nations Ford myself, and for good reason when you check the crime stats, I am not about to recommend it to a young woman who will be left alone at night half of every week
As a man, and a man of color, I can understand why your opinion might be different than mine. Somehow I just think our OP will relate to my opinion of the area better than yours okay?
Oh, and I too have recommended Beacon Hill on numerous occasions when a posters criteria fit it, but it is not along Nations Ford either
