Start cleaning out your closets, desks and storage rooms of old files that you no longer need to keep. The BBB will once again offer free document shredding for individuals and small businesses (limit of three boxes or trash bags per car) during the BBB's nationwide Secure Your ID Day. Our spring shredding day was a huge success. More than 1,700 people brought 68,000 pounds of documents to be shredded.
Date: Saturday, Oct. 17 (rain or shine)
Time:9 a.m. until 1 p.m. (or until the capacity of the shredding trucks is maxed out)
Locations: 1)South Mecklenburg High School, 8900 Park Road in Charlotte. 2) Computel, 1500 N. Graham Street in Charlotte.
Records Retention: For a list of how long different types of records should be kept, please visit the News Center at www.charlotte.bbb.org and click on Records Retention.
