My husband, 2 kids and I are slated to move to Indian Trail in November. We leave Washington State on November 1st.

My husband had a job transfer set up with Directv and we were all set to go. Directv just laid a bunch of guys off - my husband included.

We now have no jobs here and have paid for everything to get there.

I need help. Is there ANYONE who knows of ANY job that you can help us secure. We figure it will take us 5-7 days to drive there.

Thank you all!

I am so sorry to hear about your situation, my what a pickle you're in. Unfortunately NC state has a higher unemployment rate than WA. Were your items already shipped? What do you and DH do? That will at least give us a direction to help you in.

My advices is to stay put. You don't want to come to Charlotte without a job.

Yes, most our stuff is shipped, including one vehicle. We only have what will fit in a penske truck left here.

Husband worked for directv for a long time, so he can do installations for any cable/satelite company. He will take anything though.

I do clerical work for Fred Meyer ware house. I can do any sort of data entry or even retail if that is what it takes. I even tried to take back my notice to leave, but was denied.

We thought of staying put here, but bottom line is we have nothing here either.

Time Warner Cable and Windstream are 2 of the cable companies I can think of.

Do you have the address yet of where you will be living? I would start sending resumes ASAP using the Indian Trail address if possible.
