Jade Sushi in Ballantyne Village must be tried! They have a roll called the Cherry Blossom that blows everything away.

Jake, you stole the words out of my mouth! I'm a sushi lover, and Jade IMO is by far the best sushi around. The Cherry Blossom is my favorite roll anywhere, and I travel enough for work that I eat plenty of sushi around the country. The service at Jade could be better, but the sushi is so good that I completely forgive them every time.

Thanks all, looks like I will be trying a few places next week for Sushi! I emailed the place where they had my favorite rolls for a detailed description of what that roll was to take with me.

I have had many people turned on to Sushi just by introducing those rolls!

I see dynamite rolls listed and they are all different. The one I am wanting is the cold rolls topped with a hot topping with crab and roe in a spicy dressing. I checked out Ru-San and saw something similar and am going to try them first to see.

I also see Jade all the time but never went in there. Is that the place I think mentioned with a saki bomb? or something like that.

Saki bomb is a very annoying frat boy method for someone to get drunk fast by mixing sake with beer. Avoid any place that advertises this sort of thing if you are looking for real Japanese food.

We too just moved to Waxhaw recently, and have been looking for a good sushi place. I will be trying based on your recommendations , Nikko and Jade. We did hit Sushi 101, food was good but service was awful. Waitress messed up our order, forgot to bring our appy, lost my credit card for about 10 mins, insisting she did not have it, when actually she did. Place is small and the noise has no place to go. We won't be going back. We like atmosphere when we go out, and unfortunately we did not feel Sushi 101 had it.

I've eaten at Jade. I didn't think it was anything special. YMMV...
