I am thinking of going to Scarowinds this month. My question is, how crowded does it get? How long are the lines for the mazes and rides typically? Back in Florida, Halloween Horror Nights was a great event but so crowded you were lucky to ride one or two things and see one or two haunted houses in the whole nights due to long lines. Any feedback would be great. Thanks!

I went last year and the year before. I think I got to ride a grand total of 6 rides and go through 3 haunted houses. We bought the "VIP Package", or whatever its called, expecting to get early access to the park like the ad said but we didn't. Surprisingly enough, the food was pretty good. If the weather is decent, the parking lot will look like a summer Saturday, slam full. They had the full lines set up for the rides. We waited over an hour to ride the Vortex.

I will not be going back.

Here's a helpfully helpful hint: Don't drink margaritas and then try to ride teh Borg Assimilator. Not fun.

It does get pretty crowded and the lines are long for the rides...it is a good time though. I usually only got the chance to go on a few rides. So leave early to get there right when it opens and plan to stay until closing if you want the chance to do some things.

It is totally worth it to go.
I went last year on Halloween night. Since Scarowinds features coasters AND the haunted houses, the lines are usually split in two. I went on the Vortex about 3 times and only had to wait 15 minutes each time compared to the usual hour.

I went last night. It was awesome. I didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes for any of the haunts I went to either except for the clown and camp ones.

Yeah it was dead, which was really nice. The only ride we waited to get on was Nighthawk and that was only abot 15 minutes. Best coaster there too imo.

The place was decorated really cool and tons of demons and zombies running around (great costumes and makeup!).

It was mostly teenagers, but it was still really fun. I'd recommend going if you're thinking about it.
