^Which do you consider Lowe's? Big box or local guys? Kinda both aren't they?

I prefer Lowe's to Home Depot -- I just find it to be a more pleasant experience, and since I live in NC now, I'd rather my money goes to a North Carolina company. But I have gone to the Rivergate Home Depot several times, just because its location is so convenient for me. Haven't had any problems being over- or under-charged for anything.

In general, women seem to prefer Lowes while men seem to prefer Home Depot

^Hmm. Maybe that explains my urge to put a pretty dress on whenever I go to Lowe's.

A few weeks ago I bought an item and it came up wrong... told the cashier who got someone to look at it and it turned out they had stocked the wrong boxed next to the wrong prices. They gave me the item at the lower price, but I based my buying decision on the price... just like most of us do. I may or may not have bought it... I may have forgotten about it until later, checked the receipt and had to go back.

Like the other day when I bought some flowers listed at $.99 outside. When I got them home realized I had been charged nearly $3 / each for those flowers, despite the fact there was a big "$.99" right on the side of the flower pot. Had to go back to the store ad get my refund.

I know Lowes is a few miles down the road, but I'm just going to plan on going there from now on, regardless of price. I don't want to have to wonder if everything I get at HD is coming up wrong at the register.
I can't imagine going into any store and not checking your receipt before leaving and it is not always the fault of the cashier. Harris Teeter is famous for errors and I can count the times there hasn't been a mistake, so few. I just add a trip to the Customer's Service desk to my shopping trip and not just in Charlotte, all HT's. I have saved tons of $$$$ and they know it at the desk cause they are very polite about it.
I also find that now Food Lion is also at fault each time ,if you have to go there. It is good to watch that BOGO stuff, especially if you buy one they sneak in the regular price for one. It is not alway a lot but it helps with the gas and it's my money. It doesn't hurt to pay attention.
