Saw this little guy in my yard as I was seeding. Any idea what type of snake? He was about 24 inches long and about as fat as a hot dog at the most.

Thanks!

The little spotted thing under the leaves? King as other as stated here. Pretty neat.

We cleared out our shed and was disturbed to see alot of black widows. Ouch!

King snake: About the best garden/yard visitor you can have. They have a reputation for keeping copperheads at bay. Hope you did not hurt him.

Thanks guys.

I usually freak out when I see snakes but I was actually more interested then affraid this time. I did not hurt him and am trying to be more careful when I cut my grass to make sure he stays around.
