Hello, I am relocating from NY to Southern Charlotte.I am getting a job at the Blakeney shopping center and I am looking for a safe neighborhood no more than 25 minutes away. I have only been looking at Matthews so far. I would like to live somewhere where there are places nearby to walk to. It would be perfect if there was a town or section of charlotte that has a lot of shops and boutiques. I guess mainly I just want to know what areas are not crime ridden. Thank you!

A 25 minute radius from Blakeny gives you some great areas. Shops and boutiques I guess would be mostly located in the Blakeny area, Stone Crest, Ballantyne and the historic area of Waxhaw. All nice areas. If you have kids I would research schools first and than concentrate on a specific area. My son works in Blakeny while going to college and we spend a lot of time there, very nice. Crime stats and schools you need to do some research but I think you will find mostly good things. We also relocated from NY, Long Island, welcome to the area!

yea, it doesn't get much nicer and safer than Blakeney. So if you can afford the area I would def. live there!

I live in Blakeney Greens right across the street from Blakeney. Best move I ever made and I was only 5 minutes down the road before!
