No, just for fun and the occasional trip when the car is down.

We live in Union County as well and have two motorcycles. We LOVE to ride in Union County as well as in the mountains etc but we don't ride in Charlotte very often because other drivers are just too wacky. We love riding though and wouldn't give up our bikes for anything. We always wear our helmets whether there is a helmet law in the state or not because ummm we value our lives. Last year we did out west on the bikes. We went to Yellowstone, Glacier, Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse etc. This year we went to Niagara Falls and back.

We don't buy into the loud pipes save lives theory, we think loud pipes are just annoying. People just turn their music up to drown you out anyway. Loud clothes save lives. No one misses you in neon colors!

We have some great areas for riding ... I took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Class ... great class and got my license long ago. I bought a Harley Sportster that I rode until 2004 and now I have a Heritage Softail. Yes I have loud pipes, Vines & Hines Longshots and she talks to me.

Son is a crotch rocket fan and rides a Yammie R1. He likes the twisties in the NC mountains. Murfreesboro TN has a nudist camp and they did have a Nude Bike Rally but the law stopped that rally. LOL I like to ride covered up.

You can pick up a free copy of Full Throttle at most bike locations fullthrottlemagazine.com also carolinamcevents.com lists coming events (if you are interested.) If you live near Waxhaw you live near one of the best artist around for custom painting crazyhorsepainting.com ... of course that will come when you really get addicted.

Getting a little bit carried away here ... we have great riding weather and close to the NC mountains and the ocean and so many country backroads. Lake Lure NC, Kings Mountain and Woods Ferry are all great day trips. I have rode to work but I didn't work in the metropolis area of Charlotte.
