I was born in NY and moved here when I was 5 years old because my dad's job was transferred here. Regardless of growing up here, the fact that my family moved here from NY makes me part of the "problem". Like I said, on behalf of my family, I am sooo, so sorry.
Don't be ridiculous - you've grown up here most of your whole life - and were certainly here before the large influx that started 12-15 years ago. Consider yourself a yankee if you want to, but this is your hometown whether you like it or not (and I know you don't).

I don't consider myself a "yankee". Although I wouldn't be opposed to it, NY is not on the top of my list of places I'd like to live (I really like Atlanta. I know, GASP)... and you're right, no, I don't.
Location: Some got six month some got one solid. But me and my buddies all got lifetime here

I'd be pretty thrilled if the worst thing I was ever called wound up being "Yankee". Given the mud slung my way, you could call me "Yankee" with the worst of intentions and it'd still come off as complimentary.
